We've mentioned ph levels often in our articles so I thought it would be good to post this video explaining ph & solubility, from Don-Jon Inc. A high numbered ph is very Akaline (base) and a low numbered ph is very acidic. Many carpet and upholstery cleaning agents are quite alkaline, however, most carpets and fabrics like to be left acidic. That's why we often suggest using a cleaner with a ph of 10 or under and use a neutralizing rinse afterwards. Leaving fibers with too much alkaline cleaner can cause them to discolor and/or deteriorate more quickly.
